Perhaps you’re considering a permanent move to Sarasota County? If you boat, Nokomis is a great location to consider. Nokomis has many gorgeous waterfront properties. Nokomis Beach, located at the southern end of Casey Key, close to the Venice Inlet, has a boat launch, beautiful beaches, great fishing, and picnic areas. Rusty Do you know if there are areas where wild life would pose a danger to people swimming, are there gators, sharks or other dangerous predators in Sarasota bay, I have seen dolphins and manatee?

Pier 22 is now the place to check out.  It is on the Manatee River at marker 22.  It was previously named Mattison's Riverside. The owner dropped the Mattison's brand and is doing his own thing now.  This is a must check…

I would add Pop's Tropic Grill just north of the Venice inlet. Limited dockage but the grouper reuben is highly recommended.
